    Personal profile

    About

Senior librarian with 17 years of experience leading departments in libraries, managing projects and budgets, fundraising, negotiating employee/vendor contracts, hiring, and supervising. I have supervised more than 60 individuals, including professional librarians, paraprofessionals and support staff, plus managed access services, acquisitions, reference/instruction, archives, and technical services departments. In addition, I led a 14-library system, with a $1.2M budget, supervising a staff of 16 for the Redwood City School District. Under my stewardship, the system had the highest circulation on record. In addition, I worked in IT for 6 years and as a systems librarian/web developer for Dolby Laboratories. Recently, I led an initiative to integrate technology and digital library resources for a liberal arts college for incarcerated students. With this experience, I am equally adept at working with print resources and technology.
I am committed to professional development and diversity, equity, and inclusion. From 2018-2024, chaired CARL-ACRL's mentorship program and served on the association's Board of Directors. I also chaired Dominican University of California's Faculty Development Committee from 2019-2021. I led successful efforts to make programming more inclusive and provided more programs on DEI per year than in any previous years.
