Abstract
This paper contributes to the theme, Research, Remedy, and Repair, and aligns with the conference goal of “reflecting on historical and contemporary efforts to repair educational inequality.” This comprehensive review explores the evolution of discourse on gender diversity in education leadership over 18 years (2006-2024). Building on findings presented at AERA 2018, the review examines the progression of gender diversity discussions in education leadership journals. Findings indicate an increase in focus on transgender and gender diverse identities, highlighting the broader socio-political context and the necessity for deeper, continuous discourse. The paper underscores the critical role of education leaders in promoting transformative gender justice through informed policies and inclusive practices.
